"Hello, I'm Chel, I'm Indonesian with Chinese blood and have naturally tanned skin, problem?"
Hello people! Nice to post again. Every time i post something, there must be an-interesting-topic that need to be shared *i think* :p As you can read the title.. Maybe you know what do i want to talk about here. Yes! It's about skin, race and beauty..
Here in Indonesia, has so many people with many kinds of blood-lines. I've found some friends with Indian-blood, American-blood and others.. And i, myself, born with Chinese-blood. As you know, Chinese people actually have pale skin, and little sharp eyes. And, I'm not. Not only me actually..
Sooooo many skin-care ads in Indonesia show 'beautiful' talents. 'Beautiful'? Yes, beautiful. They are skinny and tall, have white flawless skin with flat tummy, long legs and straight long hair. Are they beautiful? Is that the most perfect definition of BEAUTY?
I'm not trying to say that female who skinny and tall, has white flawless skin with flat tummy, long legs and straight long hair are bad, or not beautiful enough. What i'm trying to say is EVERY GIRL IS BEAUTIFUL WITH THEIR OWN WAY.
Being someone who born with popular-criteria-of-beautiful genetic is A LUCK. Why? It's hard to change our skin color, our hair type, body height : IT IS GENETIC. When you use some bleaching lotion on your brown skin, you'll get brighter skin. But when you stop using product, your skin will turn back into your natural skin color. Some bleaching products have some bad effects on your skin too.
Is that somekind of discrimination for naturally-tanned skin people?
YES.. At least for me..
Is that make so many females feel alienated?
YES.. At least, in my opinion..
"I'VE DONE SO MANY THINGS TO MAKE MY SELF LOOK BETTER" -- i feel you
"ALL I WANT IS TO BE RESPECTED" -- i feel you
So, let's stop hurting yourself with comparing yourself with popular-definition-of-beautiful, Ladies. Love yourself more. Respect yourself more.
I've ever been on your shoes, and I already feel tired and hurted. Rise, and show that you are beautiful in your own way
No need to make your chin up
No need to step on other's ego
No need to mock on people's outfit and make up
All we need is stand up together and appreciate others
